What is a Candida?
Definition of Candida
Candidiasis is an infection caused by a group
of microscopic fungi or yeast. Also known as yeast
infection.
There are more than 20 species of Candida, the most common being Candida
albicans.
Yeast is normally found in the body of healthy men and women. It’s
only when the body’s delicate balance is thrown off that yeast
can over-grow and cause an infection. Candida commonly occurs in warm
moist areas of the body, (such as a women’s vagina, men or women’s
anal cavity, underarms, and other folds of the skin.)
